Day 1: Mexico City
Prepare for the Veracruz Attractions! We will start in Mexico City, the largest city in Latin America, where ancient and modern coexist harmoniously. Arrive at any time and check in to your accommodation before meeting your group and Tour Leader at 2 pm. After a brief welcome meeting, embark on a walk through the UNESCO-listed Historic Center, taking in the rich history and architecture of the area.
Next, enjoy a guided visit to the National Anthropology Museum, one of the most important cultural institutions in Mexico, where you’ll learn about the country’s indigenous cultures and ancient civilizations.
In the evening, you’ll have the option to join a group dinner and get-together at one of the local restaurants or bars, offering a great chance to bond with fellow travelers and unwind after a day of exploration.

Day 2: Mexico City - Teotihuacan - Xicotepec - Tuxpan
In the morning, after breakfast, start your adventure with a visit to Teotihuacan – a UNESCO-listed archaeological site featuring awe-inspiring pyramids, set amidst the ruins of what was once Mesoamerica’s greatest city. After your tour, continue to Xicotepec, a “Magical Town” nestled in the clouds and mountains, known for its rich coffee production and the blend of pre-Hispanic and colonial cultures. You’ll enjoy an optional lunch and a guided walk around the town to explore its unique charm.
Next, we’ll head to Tuxpan, a peaceful fishing town in Veracruz, famous for its exceptional seafood, wide sandy beaches, and nearby coral reefs. Upon arrival at our beachside accommodation, take time to relax and enjoy the sea breeze. Later, head to the town center for an evening orientation walk. You can opt for dinner at a local restaurant and join the group for a get-together to reflect on the day’s experiences.

Day 3: Tuxpan - Tuxpan Coral Reef - Cristo Redentor - El Tajin - Papantla
In the morning, start your day with a boat trip to the nearby Tuxpan Coral Reef (Apr-Oct*) to explore the vibrant coral gardens or take a mangrove boat tour (Nov-Mar) to discover the local flora and fauna of the region. Afterward, we’ll head to the impressive El Tajin Pyramids (UNESCO), one of the most well-preserved and significant pre-Hispanic cities in Mesoamerica. On the way, we’ll stop to admire the giant statue of Christ the Redeemer. After exploring the archaeological site, we’ll continue to Papantla, a “Magical Town” renowned for its indigenous heritage and vanilla-growing traditions.
In Papantla, witness Totonac people dressed in traditional attire, marvel at the “voladores” performing their iconic “flying dance,” and browse the local artisans’ handicrafts in the vibrant main square. After checking in at our accommodation, we’ll enjoy a guided walk around the historic center. In the evening, you can opt for a farewell dinner and join the group for a final get-together at one of the local restaurants or bars, reflecting on the memorable experiences of the day.

* Notes: The norte season in Tuxpan typically occurs between November and March. These strong seasonal winds bring cooler weather and rougher sea conditions, often making water activities like snorkeling unsafe or unavailable during this time.

Day 4: Papantla - Mexico City
End of our trip to the Veracruz Cities: after breakfast and check-out, we’ll depart for Mexico City, arriving in the early afternoon. On the way back, enjoy impressive panoramic views as we cross the 225-meter-high San Marcos Bridge, the 12th highest in the world. When it’s foggy, the experience is even more surreal, as it feels like you’re floating among the clouds.
