In the evening, you’ll meet your group and Tour Leader for a welcome dinner. Day 2: Mexico City

Start your day with a walking tour around Mexico City’s historic center, where you’ll explore landmarks like the Zócalo and Metropolitan Cathedral,  dive into the city’s rich history and culture.

Next, visit the National Museum of Anthropology, home to incredible artifacts from Mexico’s ancient civilizations, including Aztec and Mayan treasures. It’s an essential stop for understanding the country’s cultural heritage.

After the museum, you’ll have free time to explore at your own pace. Whether you choose to visit more landmarks, shop at local markets, or relax in a café, your Tour Leader will provide great suggestions.

In the evening, join the group for an optional dinner and get-together to share stories and enjoy delicious local dishes.

Day 3: Tula – Grutas de Tolantongo

Start your day with a visit to the archaeological zone of Tula, home to the awe-inspiring Toltec warrior figures, each towering at 4.5 meters high. Explore the ancient city and learn about the fascinating culture that created these fearsome statues.

Next, head to Grutas de Tolantongo, where you’ll relax in the thermal waters surrounded by stunning mountainous landscapes. Take in the natural beauty and unwind in this serene oasis.

In the evening, enjoy the optional dinner and get-together with the group at Grutas de Tolantongo, reflecting on a day full of history and relaxation.

Day 4: Grutas de Tolantongo – Zimapán Dam – Zimapán

After breakfast and a morning bath in the thermal waters of Grutas de Tolantongo, head to Zimapan Dam, a remarkable feat of Mexican engineering offering stunning landscapes.

Enjoy an optional lunch at a local family restaurant, where you can taste delicious local fish. Next, embark on a boat tour to explore the river, marveling at the towering stone walls that rise over 650 feet high.

Afterward, visit the “Magic Town” of Zimapan, known for its breathtaking scenery. Explore the charming town with an orientation walk before heading to your accommodation.

Day 5: Zimapán – Los Mármoles National Park – Xilitla

After breakfast, head to Los Mármoles National Park, nestled in the Sierra Madre Oriental mountains. Enjoy the untouched beauty of the area before tasting local apple wine, a tradition passed down from English settlers for over 200 years.

Next, visit the ruins of the foundry where parts of the Eiffel Tower were forged. Then, hike to the “Magnet Stone”, a Lodestone boulder with magnetic properties, offering stunning valley views.

Later, travel to the “Magic Town” of Xilitla for an orientation walk around the town. Check in at your accommodation, then relax with an optional dinner and get-together with the group.

Tamul is known for its towering cascade, while Tamasopo offers a peaceful, picturesque retreat with crystal-clear waters perfect for a refreshing swim. Next, we’ll explore Puente de Dios, a majestic pool of clear blue water, illuminated by sunlight filtering through the rocks, creating a magical effect. Take a moment to relax and admire the beauty of this natural wonder.

After the day’s adventures, we’ll head to eco-cabins near Micos Waterfalls for accommodation. Enjoy a delicious dinner and get-together with the group to share memories from the day. This recently opened archaeological site offers a glimpse into the rich history of the Huastec civilization, with its well-preserved structures and fascinating stories.

Next, we’ll travel to Tampico, a historic port city known for its diverse architectural styles that create a unique and vibrant urban landscape. As we explore the city, you’ll notice the blend of neoclassical, Art Deco, and colonial influences, making it a photographer’s dream.

Upon arrival, check-in to your accommodation and enjoy an orientation walk through Tampico’s historic center. Take in the sights, sounds, and history of this charming city. In the evening, we’ll gather for an optional farewell dinner where we can reflect on the incredible experiences we’ve shared throughout the tour. The day will end with a get-together to celebrate the friendships and memories made along the way.
