Join our virtual guided walk to get to know Roma, one of Mexico City’s most popular and trendy areas. A bohemian enclave once inhabited by artists and writers, it’s now the home of designer labels, hipster bars, and international dining, which still retains a slower pace in the backstreets. An original setting for the same-name Oscar-winning movie by Alfonso Cuaron, it’s the place where Beat writers William S Burroughs and Jack Kerouac naturally gravitated during their 1950s sojourn in Mexico City. Built at the turn of the twentieth century, the neighborhood is a showcase of a Parisian-influenced architecture that was so much favored by Porfirio Diaz’s regime.
