Itinerary
Get ready for the Teotihuacan visit! Wake up to an exciting morning as you meet your guide for an unforgettable day. Prepare to step back in time and dive into one of Mexico’s most iconic and captivating ancient cities. Your journey begins with a trip to the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, two awe-inspiring structures that will leave you breathless with their monumental size and historical significance. As you gaze up at these majestic pyramids, you’ll be transported to the ancient world of the Teotihuacan civilization, where these structures were once the center of a thriving metropolis.
The Avenue of the Dead awaits, and as we stroll along this famous path, your guide will lead you through the archaeological wonders that line the avenue, sharing fascinating insights into the rituals and history of this ancient site. This well-known pathway is lined with impressive structures, including palaces, temples, and the remains of ancient ceremonial sites, which once hosted significant cultural and religious events.
Next, we’ll make our way to the Temple of Quetzalpapalotl, a stunning example of Teotihuacan’s architectural brilliance, adorned with detailed carvings of the feathered serpent. This temple, named after the feathered serpent god Quetzalcoatl, offers incredible views and an in-depth understanding of the spiritual and artistic culture that permeated Teotihuacan society.
But that’s not all! Our adventure continues as we head to the nearby “Magical Town” of San Martin de las Piramides, a colonial town that offers a perfect contrast to the ancient ruins. The historic center of San Martin is a blend of colonial architecture and local culture. Stroll through its colorful streets, admire the quaint cobblestone paths, and explore the bustling local market, which is a feast for the eyes and taste buds.
Next, we take a visit to a local family pulqueria where you’ll get an inside look at the ancient tradition of pulque production, a practice that dates back over a thousand years. Pulque, made from the fermented sap of the agave plant, was once reserved for priests and nobles, and has remained an integral part of Mexican culture.
As if this journey wasn’t already full of excitement, our next stop takes us to the UNESCO-listed Aqueduct of Padre Tembleque, a hydraulic engineering marvel from the 16th century. Stretching an astounding 48 kilometers, this aqueduct is one of the longest and tallest of its kind in the world.
As the sun begins to set, we return to Mexico City and finish our Teotihuacan visit, hearts filled with unforgettable memories and a sense of wonder. Join us on this thrilling expedition, and let’s go on a memorable quest through the wonders of Mexico together!
