Day 1: Puerto Escondido
Get ready for Puerto Escondido Tour! You can arrive at any time (or opt to book an extra night to arrive a few days earlier). Upon arrival, meet your group and Tour Leader at the lobby of your accommodation at 2 pm. After a short informational welcome meeting, join the group for an optional lunch followed by an orientation walk through Puerto Escondido‘s charming town center. Later, head to a nearby beach to witness the breathtaking sunset and take part in the memorable experience of releasing baby turtles into the wild. In the evening, enjoy an optional dinner and get-together with your group at one of the local bars

Day 2: Puerto Escondido - Mazunte - La Crucecita
After breakfast, check out and embark on a mangrove boat tour, exploring the lush waterways and diverse wildlife. Next, continue to Mazunte, a charming “Magical Town” known for its strong surf, beautiful beaches, and the renowned Mexican Turtle Center. Enjoy breathtaking ocean views from a local peninsula, and if it’s the right season, you might spot migrating whales. Take an orientation walk through Mazunte’s town center and enjoy an optional lunch.
Later, transfer to Bahia de Cacaluta, a pristine golden-sand beach within Huatulco National Park, accessible via a scenic 30-minute forest walk. This spot is perfect for snorkeling, swimming, and immersing yourself in untouched nature. After a few relaxing hours on the beach, head to a nearby lighthouse to watch a stunning sunset.

Day 3: La Crucecita - Pluma Hidalgo - San Jose del Pacifico
After breakfast and checkout, hop on a coffee tour at one of the farms near Pluma Hidalgo. This quaint mountainous village is among the best in Mexico for cultivating coffee, with the local Pluma Gourmet variety being one of the country’s most prestigious. Enjoy an orientation walk through the village, followed by lunch and a cup of delicious coffee.
Next, travel to San Jose del Pacifico, nestled in the southern Sierra of Oaxaca at 2,500 meters above sea level—a place that seems to touch the sky. Upon arrival, take an orientation walk of this charming town and witness a beautiful sunset from your accommodation.
In the evening, enjoy an optional dinner and get-together with the group at one of the local restaurants, rounding off a day filled with nature, culture, and unforgettable views.

Day 4: San Jose del Pacifico - Santo Tomás Tamazulapan - San Martín Tilcajete - Zaachila - Oaxaca City
After breakfast and check-out, continue your Puerto Escondido tour with a visit to a family-owned mezcal distillery in Santo Tomás Tamazulapan. Experience the traditional process of mezcal production and savor its distinctive flavors. Next, head to San Martín Tilcajete, a charming town famous for its hand-carved fantastical creatures crafted by local artisans. Explore the workshops and enjoy an orientation walk through the town.
Then, transfer to Zaachila, a small town that served as the last Zapotec capital after the fall of Monte Albán. Here, visit a largely unexplored archaeological site and browse the local market, where you can sample some of the region’s most exquisite specialties.
On the way to Oaxaca City, stop at the unique Ex-Convent of Guerrero Cuilapam, notable for its open-air structure with no roof. Once in Oaxaca City, join your Tour Leader for an introductory walking tour of the historic center to see its main attractions. Next, head to San Juan Raya, a small village nestled within the Tehuacán-Cuicatlán Biosphere Reserve. Accompanied by a local community guide, explore the area’s rich vegetation and discover dozens of ancient dinosaur footprints dating back millions of years.
