Itinerary
Wake up for an adventure day with the Frida Kahlo Tour Mexico City! Meet your guide and get ready to explore the places that shaped the lives of Mexico’s most iconic artists, while diving into in history, creativity, and tradition.
Our first stop is Xochimilco, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its floating gardens and historic canals. Step aboard a colorful trajinera (traditional boat) and let the lively sounds of mariachi music set the mood for a picturesque ride through the ancient waterways once used by the Aztecs. Sip on a refreshing drink, enjoy the unique views, and take in the cheerful atmosphere that makes Xochimilco one of the most unique experiences in Mexico City.
Next, we head to the Anahuacalli Museum, an architectural masterpiece designed by Diego Rivera himself. Built from volcanic stone, this striking building houses a big collection of pre-Hispanic artifacts, carefully curated by Rivera to honor Mexico’s indigenous heritage. Walk through its halls, feel the artistic energy, and gain insight into the deep connection between Rivera’s work and Mesoamerican culture.
But wait, there’s more! On our way to Coyoacán, we’ll stop at the UNAM campus, home to Mexico’s most prestigious university. Here, get to know the beautiful murals painted by renowned artists like Juan O’Gorman and David Alfaro Siqueiros, each telling stories of Mexico’s history, struggles, and resilience.
Finally, we arrive at Museo Casa Kahlo, a contemporary museum that offers an intimate look into Frida’s inner world. The exhibits feature personal belongings, photographs, letters, and symbolic elements of her identity and artistry. As you explore the museum, your guide will share insights into the struggles, love, and politics that shaped one of Mexico’s most powerful creative voices.
After a day filled with art, history, and inspiration, sit back and relax as we drive you back to the meeting point or your accommodation, letting the memories of Frida’s world and Mexico’s artistic legacy linger in your mind.
