As we make our way to Laguna de Tlílac, the legendary La Llorona performance venue, you’ll be seated on the trajinera, which will serve as your front-row view of the show. The tale of La Llorona is one of Mexico’s most famous and chilling legends, and it dates back to the chronicles of Bernal Díaz del Castillo, a Spanish conquistador who was part of the Conquest of the Aztec Empire. According to his accounts, the ghostly figure of La Llorona, known for her heart-wrenching cries and sorrowful wailing, has haunted the waters of Xochimilco for centuries.
