This pyramid is not only a historical marvel but also an essential site for understanding the deep-rooted cultural and spiritual heritage of the region. Admire the panoramic views from the top and explore the stunning church. Afterward, stroll through the charming historic center of Cholula, where you can wander the colorful streets and visit the municipal market. Here, you’ll have the chance to sample some of Puebla’s famous food specialties, from tacos al pastor to tlayudas, and enjoy the bustling atmosphere of the market.
Next, we head to Puebla City, the state’s capital, famous for its colonial architecture, beautiful lanes, and historic churches. As we walk through the city’s charming streets, your guide will share insights into Puebla’s colonial past, highlighting the stunning buildings and churches that make the city so unique. Along the way, indulge in Puebla’s culinary offerings by trying some of its most authentic dishes. Sample the rich flavors of cemitas, a sandwich-style delicacy filled with juicy meats, fresh avocados, and spicy salsa. Savor chalupas, crispy tortillas topped with salsa and various fillings, and the iconic chile en nogada, a dish full of pomegranate seeds and walnut sauce that tells the story of Puebla’s independence.
As we continue through the city, we’ll stop at the Convento de San Francisco, a historical monastery known for being the birthplace of mole poblano, one of the most famous Mexican dishes in the world.
